Welcome to this little corner of t’internet which is the home of Donaghadee Ladies Hockey Club. Donaghadee is a pretty seaside town on the Ards Peninsula, and there has been a ladies hockey club in the town for longer than some of our oldest members can remember – and that is quite some time, believe us (though their memories are getting shorter, tis true).
We’re a small club but we’re on the up – currently fielding a 1XI which gained promotion from Senior 4 to Senior 3 at the end of the 2014/15 season, and a newly formed 2XI as of the 13/14 season. We’re always on the lookout for new players, regardless of age or ability. Why not come down and give us a try?
During the season we train at Bangor Grammar School on the Gransha Road in Bangor. Our Head Coach is the vastly experienced Brian McKee, previously involved with Bangor Men’s Hockey Club, who has been with us since the 2009/10 season. We’re on the pitch at Bangor Grammar from 7.30-9pm every Wednesday with additional fitness sessions in the plannng too.
So have a look around, and if you fancy coming down for a bit of a runabout, we’ll be very glad to see you!
