Senior 2: Kilkeel 3-0 DLHC 1XI
The 1XI made the trip to South Down on Saturday to face Kilkeel in a well-fought league clash.
It was another true testament to the club spirit to get a full squad on the pitch, with several players stepping up and bringing brilliant energy to the side. A huge thank you to everyone who travelled to fulfil the fixture.
The team brought bags of positivity and determination from start to finish, continually encouraging one another across the pitch. It turned out to be a tough, physical battle, but the Dee squad showed impressive teamwork, tracking back, making key tackles, and working tirelessly to break up play.
Although the result ended 3-0 to Kilkeel, the team can be incredibly proud of their fight and togetherness throughout the entire match. There is plenty of progress and confidence to build on moving into the team’s next fixture, a home match against Ballymena on Saturday (24th), pass back at Bangor Grammar 1pm.
Well done to everyone who played, and a big thank you to the Ulster Hockey umpires for officiating!
Junior 10: DLHC 2XI 0-3 Antrim
It was a beautiful day for hockey, with blue skies and sunshine providing the perfect backdrop as Dee Seconds welcomed Antrim 2s for their latest league fixture.
It was a real club effort to get a team on the pitch, with some new and returning faces stepping up to pull on the Dee shirt and help out. A huge thank you to everyone who made themselves available and got involved – it was great to see everyone coming together for the team!
The team brought a positive attitude from the first whistle to the last, encouraging one another and showing great team spirit throughout. There was plenty of determination on display, with everyone working hard and supporting their teammates when it mattered.
It proved to be a largely defensive game, with the Dee girls putting in a shift across the pitch and working hard to keep Antrim at bay. Despite the pressure, the team continued to dig deep, stay organised and battle right to the final whistle.
The match finished 3-0 to Antrim, but there are plenty of positives to take forward. The effort, commitment and willingness to step up for the club were clear to see, and the team can be proud of the way they stuck together throughout.
A big well done to everyone who played, a special thank you to Caroline and Lisa who took up the whistle to umpire, and thanks to Elevate Storage Solutions for sponsoring the match ball.
The 2s are next in action this Saturday, welcoming South Antrim to Bangor Grammar School for the 2.30pm game.
